Your energy and your horse - Your energy is felt by your horse, if your energy/ emotion is for example, high, busy, overwhelmed, under pressure, sad, angry, hurt, frustrated, scared. If your thinking you can not do some thing, or your not good enough, or perhaps you have lost confidence, your horse will feel it and react to it, they also are very good at feeling intention, you cannot fool a horse.
Here are some tips that I give my clients.
1. Change your energy by being / feeling grateful. Think of 5 things you are grateful for. Then think of 3 funny memories. Hold on to these as you will use them to be your go too when your not feeling great. By going through this easy process you will change your energy, this will help you to feel better and that is what your horse will feel.
2. If your mind wont calm down, counting 54321 will change the part of your brain that’s in busy mode and it will give you a minute to think of a better thought.
3. Practise Deep Breathing: Take slow, deep breaths to help calm your mind and body. Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a few seconds, then exhale slowly through your mouth. This simple technique can reduce stress and shift your focus to the present moment, encouraging a more positive outlook.
4. Reframe Negative Thoughts: When you notice negative thoughts, consciously replace them with positive or neutral alternatives. For example, change "I can’t do this" to "I will do my best and learn along the way." This habit helps rewire your thinking patterns toward optimism.
5. Engage in Gratitude: Spend a moment listing things you are grateful for, whether big or small. Recognizing positive aspects of your life can quickly lift your mood and redirect your attention from negativity to appreciation.
